Reference: splicing a film Reference information: I don´t know if they still do this with a physical tape these days or digitally. When we used reel-to-reel tape for radio programs, the voice "artist" would correct himself whenever he made a mistake during the recording. Then, during the editing, he would take a razor blade and cut out the mistake and splice the tape back together using some kind of tape. You can also insert a piece by making a cut and taping it in.
