Hola, estoy traduciendo una novela sobre historia indígena norteamericana y me aparece reiteradamente el término "pony soldier" haciendo referencia a los soldados de las fuerzas inglesas durante la batalla de Little Big Horn.

He buscado este término pero no logro dar con un equivalente satisfactorio.

Como opciones tengo simplemente "soldados", o "infantes de caballería"

agree  JohnMcDove: Con Victoria... "murieron con las botas puestas" como rezaba el título de la película, y lo peor es que mataron a sus propios caballos para ponerlos como defensa ante los indios... O eso dicen, porque yo no estuve ahí. :-)
