English term or phrase: sleeve (finance)
Detracting for the month was stock selection in the financial sector, and an underweight in the sector. The financial sleeve is positioned in some of the higher-quality growth names that marked time in favor of some of the more deep-value recovery plays.
_________
Trading in the sector sleeve was fairly modest during the month...
_________

I'm trying to avoid using "segmento" and "area" for sleeve, but it seems that could do. Any other suggestions?

componente
Explanation:
Funny choice of wording. I would say it refers to the "finance component" of the portfolio: the financial stocks they have chosen to invest in. If you do not want to use "segmento", I suggest something like "en el componente financiero", o maybe something more literary, like "en la arena financiera".

Suerte y un saludo.

For more clarity, you could also say "el componente financiero de la cartera".

I guess "componente" should do, but I would expect more options. Thank you for your help.
