English term or phrase: Doe/Roe
Hello,
I'm translating a notice of amendment to a complaint issued by the plaintiff's counsel.
The amendment states that the complaint used a fictitious name to refer to the defendant, and that it was discovered that the true name was (COMPANY NAME). It goes literally like this:
"I have discovered the true name of Doe (X) Roe to be XXXX."

Then there is a summons addressed to the Defendant:
"NOTICE TO DEFENDANT: NAME OF THE PERSON, COMPANY NAME (that is, the newly-discovered name) AND DOES 1 THROUGH 50, INCLUSIVE".

I know that Doe/Roe are fictitious names used to refer to the parties in a case, sometimes for confidentiality purposes or in a theoretical case, but I had never seen it actually used in the case file as such.
Thank you in advance for your help

Explanation:
Creo que podrías usar "demandado" en el primer caso y alguna de las otras opciones para DOES 1 THROUGH 50.
Saludos.
