(to conduct) direct, cross, re-direct and re-cross. interrogatorio directo...{see below} Explanation: As I mentioned on my discussion entry, typical American court lingo, they always eat the word "examination" to conduct direct examination.. direct examination = interrogatorio directo cross-examination = contrainterrogatorio, repregunta re-direct examination = segundo interrogatorio directo recross = segundo contrainterrogatorio Hope this helps |

(to conduct) direct, cross, re-direct and re-cross. (hacer) preguntas, repreguntas, preguntas adicionales y repreguntas adicionales Explanation: Technically, they are missing the nouns. The listed terms re-direct and re-cross are elliptical phrases of the full terms re-direct examination and re-cross examination. However, in legal jargon the noun examination gets dropped and re-direct and re-cross are used as a noun. The terms preguntas and repreguntas are natural equivalents used in Spanish and Latin-American courts for direct examination and cross examination. I haven't been able to find a natural equivalent for re-direct and re-cross, but I think that my suggestions may work. |
