En el Diccionario de término jurídicos de Alcaraz dice lo siguiente:
pass off:
engañar haciendo pasar sus productos por los de otro, cometer el fraude de imitación, usurpar.
pass-offs:
imitaciones fraudulentas; artículos o mercancías que son comercializadas haciéndolas pasar por producto de una marca conocida o registrada.

Por lo tanto entiendo el fraude de imitación como el delito y la imitación fraudulenta como el producto del delito.
