We are here in a retail shopping environment.

There is this title for a book by Edward Fox and John Semple: "Understanding the 'Cherry Pickers': How Retail Customers Split Their Shopping Baskets".

I understand most of the title, but can't find any conection between retail shopping subject and cherry pickers, which are some sort of cargo or storage machines. What does Cherry Pickers mean in the retail shopping environment?
