English term or phrase: the theme of
Hi everyone!

This might seem a very silly question, but "the theme of" is the equivalent for the spanish "el tema de"? The issue is this: I think that using "el tema de" in Spanish is totally incorrect, and people say all the time and they write it. So, I just found "the theme of" in English and I don't want to translate "el tema de". Anyone knows any alternative? Anyone knows if I'm right thinking that "el tema de" is not correct?

Thank you very much!

concepto/tema de fondo
Explanation:
