| whinny versus neigh relincho/resoplido Explanation: I believe the difference is "whinny" is the noise they can make while inhaling and "neigh" is the sound they can produce while exhaling. They are distinct sounds but could be easily conflated by someone who has not spent a lot of time around horses.
