English term or phrase: to adjudicate an adverse event
Demographics, baseline characteristics, procedural information, and clinical outcomes (efficacy and safety) will also be summarized. Note that adverse events will be "adjudicated" as to the relationship to the device, procedure or the disease state, as well to the severity the event.

I'm not sure what they mean by "adjudicating" adverse events.

Thank you in advance for any suggestions or answers.
