Resulta que cuando se introduce un balón o un stent, no queremos que se agrande en los extremos y adopte la forma de una doble T. ¿Por qué? Para que no sobreexpanda la arteria: "… the balloon will not dog-bone and over-expand the artery on either end of the stent" (http://www.advpoly.com/Products/Balloons/Applications/StentD... No obstante, este tipo de balones tiene sus aplicaciones.
