vaina tendinosa, aleta de mordida, restauración por inlay/onlay Explanation: tendon sheath = vaina tendinosa bitewing = aleta de mordida (answered elsewhere on ProZ) At the present, it looks like there is no generally accepted translation for "inlay" and "onlay". Until a term becomes available, I would use "restauración por inlay/onlay" MeSH: Inlays: Restorations of metal, porcelain, or plastic made to fit a cavity preparation, then cemented into the tooth. Onlays are restorations which fit into cavity preparations and overlay the occlusal surface of a tooth or teeth. Onlays are retained by frictional or mechanical factors. http://www.tischlerdental.com/onlays.htm: The difference between an inlay and an onlay is self-evident: an inlay fills in a tooth and an onlay is placed on, or covers a tooth. Both are made in a dental laboratory through an impression that we take in the office. http://www.infomed.es/buscador/index.html: Se trata de inlays que encajan perfectamente en la cavidad preparada con las puntas de Sonicsys approx, se cementan mediante composites fluidos y terminamos el relleno de la cavidad con material para posteriores como Tetric Ceram (Vivadent. Schaan, Lienstenhtein). Dichas incrustaciones permiten un buen ajuste en la cavidad proximal ya que se adaptan perfectamente a los biseles labrados previamente con las puntas al tiempo que permiten un punto de contacto estable y duradero.
