Context:

- I grew up in an orphanage. You must have searched my background when you recruited me. ¿Haven't you found this?
- No. There was no record before you enlisted in the special force. I found it weird when the officials denied my request for your rest record.

I understand that "rest" refers to the time he was not working or in the force.
