  -> Casualmente acabo de llegar del supermercado y de ver un paquete de "beef jerky" -- carne seca, sin nada de jugo. En mi respuesta dije que en Cuba le llamamos tasajo. A menos que seas más cubano(a) que yo, eso no puedes discutirmelo.

Explanation:
Se parece al tasajo y al charqui pero se diferencia en que el corte se obtiene de cane de muy buena calidad. Las tiras son muy finas, son acondicionadas y saborizadas de tal manera que mantienen la humedad dentro del paquete. Esta humedad residual hace que se pueda morder y comer como un tente en pie. La textura final no es dura y no necesita ser remojado para ingerir. Personalmente he controlado el "Jerky Beef" importado por mi país.

Se usa carnes secas en este caso beef es de res, yo pienso que la mayoría entendería carnes secas de res.

Hay mucha gente de Ecuador también allí y siempre decimos "carnes secas" sean de res o de chancho.
