Pressure isolations

It might be necessary to de-pressure and/or isolate control system
components and/or *production flowpath components* (including those in
the production annulus system) in order to prevent damage to equipment
during mating and de-mating of pressure containing components.
Most subsea control systems have two high pressure (HP) and low
pressure (LP) hydraulic systems through to the Subsea Control Module
(SCM). If it is necessary to de-pressure and/or isolate the hydraulic
systems then both lines within a given system (HP or LP) should be
de-pressured and/or isolated.
Some method of confirming that the pressure isolation is actually effective
should be implemented prior to breaking containment, especially for
production *flow paths*.
