English term or phrase: Treatable water
Hola a todos, debo traducir el término "treatable water" que aparece en el artículo de investigación "Hydraulic Fracturing for Oil and Gas: Impacts from the Hydraulic Fracturing Water Cycle on Drinking Water Resources in the United States" (Diciembre, 2016)

Aparece, por ejemplo, en este párrafo:

"there is no vertical distance between the top of the hydraulically fractured oil- or gas-bearing rock formation and the bottom of TREATABLE WATERr, as determined by data from state oil and gas agencies and state geological survey data.

"In other parts of the country (e.g., the Eagle Ford Shale in Texas), there can be thousands of feet of rock that separate TREATABLE WATER from the hydraulically fractured oil-or gas-bearing rock formation. When hydraulically fractured oil and gas production wells are located near or within drinking water resources, there is a greater potential for activities in the hydraulic fracturing water cycle to impact those resources."

He estado investigando para encontrar el equivalente adecuado pero no he tenido mucho éxito.

Saludos!

agua aprovechable
Explanation:
Literalmente -agua tratable- (tratable o procesable para después usarla para abastecimiento de poblaciones)
El Ernst técnico da una acepción similar para metales: -treatable- = benecifiable.

“Treatable water” means, for purposes of setting surface casing and other casing strings, subsurface water in its natural state, useful or potentially useful for drinking water for human consumption, domestic livestock, irrigation, industrial, municipal, and recreational purposes, and which will support aquatic life, and contains less than 10,000 mg/liter total dissolved solids or less than 5,000 ppm chlorides. Treatable water includes, but is not limited to, fresh water.

(EN)The present invention relates to an apparatus and method to reclaim water. The water that may be reclaimed begins as untreated treatable wáter, which is water having solids, particulates, or minerals not originally in the water. Untreated treatable water is also natural water having solids, particulates, or minerals that are undesired. The invention provides for removal of the totally dissolved solids from the water by micronizing the water in a chamber having a first temperature, and condensing the water in a second chamber having an interior surface that is cooled to the ambient wet-bulb temperature of the surrounding environment. Reclaimed treatable water from this invention becomes usable water.
