English term or phrase: Laboratories inside out: the world wide lab

CONTEXTO:

In the time past, a scientist or a philosopher of science worked in a closed site, the laboratory, where a small group of specialised experts scaled down (or scaled up) phenomena which they could repeat at will through simulations or modelling before presenting their results. Today the laboratory has extended its walls to the whole planet. Instruments are everywhere. Houses, factories, hospitals have all became subsidiaries of the laboratories.

laboratories inside out: the world wide lab

Saludos
Quim
