English term or phrase: "forensics team"

Contexto:

"They asked me to be an alternate for the Forensics team. This is the permission slip for the International Schools Debate Tournament. They already have a team, since last spring, and they’re all prepared. It’s on nuclear proliferation and whether all countries have a right to it. They want me there because I can speak on it unprepared, they said."

Hola, es muy corriente ahora en los sitios privados, sobre todo:

"The National Forensic League (NFL) works with middle school and high school students in speech and debate skills to help students become effective communicator."

"Los debatientes debían responder a la pregunta: ¿Deben ser los colegiales los responsables de acabar con las Novatadas?, bajo el formato de debate clásico de presentaciones y refutaciones."

"Forensic"__> forensics (fəˈrɛnsɪks Pronunciation for forensics )
Definitions
noun
(functioning as singular or plural) the art or study of formal debating

Saludos.
