Hi everyone!

Estoy traduciendo una novela, en la que hay una guerra entre ciertas cortes de vampiros y dice que dos dirigientes "met under a flag of truce and temporary cease fire". Entiendo que se refiere a algún tipo de acuerdo de tregua y cese el fuego temporal, ¿se traduciría así en español?

Tampoco veo sentido a un traducción literal: "bajo la bandera de la tregua y del alto el fuego temporal." Lo de la bandera se usa como convención internacional, pero nunca lo he escuchado ni lo he visto escrito y por más que lo busco no lo encuentro en textos, por lo que la traducción literal me parece un calco.

Explanation:
"Se reunieron bajo la bandera blanca de tregua" es el aporte que se me ocurre. Al decir "bandera blanca" estamos expresando lo de "truce", y al aclarar el término "tregua" estamos cubriendo la parte de "temporary cease fire". Queda muy lindo expresado en inglés, y aunque es redundante no se nota. Creo que en español es más fácil notar la redundancia, y por eso no optaría por lo literal.
