“recolección/es”, “recopilación/es” Explanation: Hello Fragavan: Your question is about the translation to Spanish of the term or expression “pick-ups” on the context of printing and publishing. As we know, the “pick-up” is a term composed by “pick” and “up” and with different meanings depending of the context and the function in the sentence: verb, noun. Due to this situation, before to try to find a good translation, I reread several times the context that you give us, specially this sentence: “Licensor shall have sole discretion in determining whether a particular Book shall be considered a new creation, adaptation or pick-up for purposes of this section.” According to this context, we see that we are talking about “books”. A particular “Book” shall be considered: 1) A new creation 2) An adaptation 3) A pick-up Now that we know that we are talking about books, we have to find a possible translation of “pick-up” that has some links with the publishing industry. BILINGUAL VOCABULARY (related to the context) (1), (2) 1) English term “pick up” (as verb) = in Spanish “recoger”, “captar”, “recuperar”, “elegir”, “recibir”… MORE 2) English term “pick-up” (as verb) = in Spanish “recolección”.
