Tech/Engineering - Safety / Electricity
English term or phrase: \"One-shot\"
This is the electricity chapter of a safety manual, and this is the context of the phrase:

Obtain a “one shot” (non-reclosing) when conductors are being installed, removed, relocated, or crossing over energized lines if the design of the circuit-interrupting devices and customer will allow. “One shots” should be coordinated with the customer.

Any ideas?

Spanish translation:circuito mono estable
Explanation:
Hi! I've searched for information about "one- shots" and they are supposed to be "circuitos mono estables" or directly "one- shot" as the original, not translated... and also find that it known as "circuito igualador de pulsos".
I'm not pretty sure of what it is EXACTLY hahaha
but I wrote the link below for you to check the info better. I hope it could help...

Recierre fuera de servicio

Para seguridad de personal de campo, al realizar una maniobra en o cerca de una linea energizada, se pone fuera de servicio el rele de re-cierre para que en caso de una falla o accidente el circuito se desconecte y no realice el ciclo de re-intentos de conexión automática (recierre)

There is conflicting evidence on whether decedents participated in their foreman's decision not to request a one-shot lockout on the day of the accident, whether P & E had a safety rule in effect at the time of the accident requiring linemen to wear and use protective equipment when working on deenergized lines - See more at: http://caselaw.findlaw.com/ga-court-of-appeals/1060053.html#...

obtener la habilitación de reenganche automático único / de un intento.

Aquí en mi pueblo, cuando hay personal trabajando en vivo se bloquea totalmente el reenganche automático. Aparentemente en el primer mundo es mas importante la continuidad del servicio que la seguridad del personal y se permite el habilitar un intento de reenganche en el rele reenganche 79

Example sentence(s):
  • the quick trip settings of having a line on one shot can definately save a mans life. work was much safer when we got our reclosing and had the added room allowed by hot sticking these high voltage distribution systems

neutral  Robert Carter: Sí tiene que ver con el reenganche automatíco único o de un intento, pero no estoy seguro como se debe emplear el término en el contexto. ¿Cómo se "obtiene" un "one-shot"? Esa era lo que no entendía yo. Saludos.//¿Entonces queda como "bloqueo..."?
