Hola, te adjunto un extracto de un texto de telecomunicaciones donde aparece la palabra incumbente como referencia a un operador de telecomunicaciones (no te incluye el url porque estaba en la caché de google y ha caducado pero puedes buscar "incumbente" y saldrán muchos resultados de telecomunicaciones):

"En una localidad dan servicios de Telecomunicación el operador (O) incumbente y un operador de cable. Ambos operadores dan servicio de Teléfono (T) a todos sus clientes. Opcionalmente el incumbente también les da servicio de Internet (I), mientras que el operador de cable ofrece servicios de Internet (I) y también de televisión por cable (Tv). El 80% de los hogares tienen Teléfono (T) bien sea con uno u otro operador y nunca con ambos a la vez. El 40% de los usuarios del teléfono permanecen con el operador incumbente, y entre estos el 10% tienen Internet (I).
