En el contexto, se selecciona esa característica (seguramente mediante una tecla o ícono) que baja el nivel de audio de las señales de radio en el canal a unos niveles aceptables para poder tener conversaciones personales en el lugar donde está el equipo. Sin embargo, las señales no son silenciadas por completo, por lo que Ud puede seguir monitoreando el canal para regresar a escucha normal cuando sea necesario.

Recomiendo, en caso de haber una tecla/ícono con esa identificación, dejar también entre paréntesis (Instant Mute) para identificación en el equipo.
