The words اشارے سے complete the translation I have given with regard to the context. It should be noted that there is NO mention of the word 'check' in the answer selected whereas this is the main word in the question asked.

It is regretted that I am unable watch the You Tube reference as it is banned in my country these days.

I posted the link for a Youtube video. The "finger-pointing" part is crucial to translating this term since that is what is special about this particular test. The person performing the checks has to point in direction of each of the things s/he is checking. They also mention this test is unique to Japan and a few other countries. The person pointing the finger is not doing it to show it to someone else, but to make him/herself aware that he/she has performed the check. So the chosen translation is not correct. I like the word aburiaz sahib used: پڑتال. I would change it to , "اشارے سے ایک ایک کرکے پڑتال کرنا". The word "check" also implies going through a list of things, so ایک ایک کرکے takes cares of that.
