English term or phrase: recognized rateably
Hi, can you please explain to me the meaning of the expression between **? A controversy has arisen in the English-Italian section and we don't know how to solve it. Thanks :-)

XX's policy requires that software licence revenue is **recognized rateably** over the licence term, and therefore has the effect of deferring a higher proportion of bookings to future periods. This contributes to a future guaranteed revenue stream.

accounted for proportionately
Explanation:
That the revenue is spread over future periods either on a straight line basis, just dividing the period on a time base, or possibly, if greater revenues accrue in a particular period, then on a basis of supply.

agree  Ken Cox: yep -- to spell it out, with a 3-year license, 1/3 of the license fee would be recognised as revenue in the 1st year, 1/3 in the 2nd year, and 1/3 in the 3rd year, instead of recognising the full fee as revenue in the year when it is issued
