hardship pay Explanation: Well, this might fall under this heading. Hardship pay is a bonus you receive for living in a less than enjoyable area because of a job. The military has "hazard pay" for combat zones and companies here in the USA will give you hardship pay if you are, say, 20 miles from the nearest running water or such things.
