another idea Explanation: To me, planting season would refer only to the time of putting the crop into the ground. Agricultural season, in my understanding, refers to the entire season from planting through harvesting. (It depends on what you have in mind with your term "planting season." If you are talking about the entire process, then I agree with Dave.) And, as Dave stated, seasons vary widely depending on location. depends on the geographical location and crops grown Explanation: i.e. in Europe, planting of summer crops will generally take place in february or March (early spring) and harvesting usually starts in July, but the oppposite would be true in New Zealand and Southern South America for instance. In more tropical climes the timing of the monsoons and type of crop would play an important role in the planting and harvesting times. On the bsis that you cannot reap what you do not sow, then the agricultural season may very well be said to begin with ploughing the land and sowing seeds for crops grown from seeds of some sort.
