English term or phrase: keeps the Sales Rep accountable
I am translating a text about how to make deals with potential clients.
Here they are talking about the onboarding process, but I think I cannot understand properly the meaning of the word "accountable" in this context.

"Onboarding primarily consists of tasks for other departments, but keeping a Deal in Sales’ radar keeps the **Sales Rep accountable** and can speed up the Onboarding process."

Does it mean "responsible" or "up-to-date"? How would you explain this sentence?
Thank you in advance for your kind help.

Selected answer:gives the sales rep continued involvement and responsibility
Explanation:
It's a slightly strange text by someone with a less than perfect command of written English - hence the Trumpian use of initial capitals. And I assume onboarding refers to new customers rather than employees.
I also assume that keeping a deal in Sales' radar means keeping an eye on it and not forgetting it.
