wiping dust Explanation: This is slightly odd, because dust wipes are taken as samples for analysis of polluants, e.g. lead in the dust in an environment. It could be referring to that sampling method, but rather odd in your context, so perhaps it is simply dust being diffused into the air as a result of wiping surfaces. If the latter were the risk, then one would want to avoid dry wiping surfaces; so could it be that there is a particularly nasty polluant in this environment that gives rise to a risk when taking dust samples? |

toxic substances that may become known by a dust wipe Explanation: Since a "dust wipe" is method of gathering a sample of possible toxic materials in the air, materials like lead and pesticides -- I think that it is quite possible that this is a short hand way of saying problematic/toxic substance that we may be able to identify by dust wipe sampling. I don't think that the dust wipe itself is the risk. |
