lumens space inside a tube Explanation: it's unclear what kind of device this is, but generally a lumen is the space contained by the internal surface of a tube, e.g. a blood vessel but could certainly also be a piece of rubber tubing or perhaps the inside of a (partially) tubular metal instrument. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 15 mins (2006-09-14 19:01:08 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- apparently 'lumina' is also used as the plural of 'lumen' but I've only heard 'lumens'. My Fr>En dictionary has 'lumen' as the French name for this too. |
