I plan to write a research proposal on the above topic, but am not sure whether the expression is correct. "The translation and publishing of modern western science" sounds a little bit odd..

Does it sound right to the native ears? Thanks.

I would change the whole title to: 'The translation and publication of Western scientific literature'.
