English term or phrase: Catchball
It is part of a sharpener for a machine that cuts stacks of flattened, two-up boxes into two stacks of flat, individual boxes. This is on a mechancial drawing. the part concerned is labelled with three numbers, which are Sharpener cap, Catchball spring and Catchball. It is between the sharpener assembly and a flexible shaft. The machine has a continuous metal band that rotates and serves as a blade to do the cutting, and has an in-line sharpener.
