Persian (Farsi) term or phrase: استوک
Greetings,

A very interesting and worthwhile point made by Younes which I feel deserves its own thread:
"If a boot is hobnailed we say این پوتینا میخ دارند. Or if football shoes are hobnailed we simply say اینا استوک هستند or این کفشای فوتبال استوک دارند/ میخ دارند."

Please, what is the exact translation of ‘استوک’ here? How do you pronounce it?

Best wishes, and many thanks,

Simon

The pronunciation is /estok/. It should be a common mistake in pronouncing the word "stud". In this link you can see the word استود is used to refer to "stud".
