Finnish term or phrase: Bodaus
harrastaa pyöräilyä ja bodausta. Bodybuilding?

If so, can someone explain the genesis of this word. Is it merely a snappy sound-alike short form?

Body building
Explanation:
Bodybuilding it is, not sure how to explain the genesis though... Well, I guess it's just a "Finnified" version of the first part of this word ('body').

agree  Timo Lehtilä: About the origin. 'Bodaus' is a regular deverbal noun of the verb 'bodata' (exercise body building), but I can't say which one has appeared first. There's also a noun 'bodari' (bodybuilder).
