objection / complaint (appeal) Explanation: The English translation of the law that this practice is based on (Act on the Status and Rights of Patients (785/1992)) uses "objection" for the Finnish "muistutus" in the context of health care provision. The English translation talks about appealing instead of lodging a complaint, but it looks like the translation does not contain the amendments made in 2014. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 9 hrs (2018-09-28 05:52:36 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Whilst both of them really are complaints, the difference seems to be that "muistutus" is made to the care provider (doctor, hospital etc.) whereas "kantelu" is made higher up (regional office, Valvira etc.) Reference: http://https://www.finlex.fi/en/laki/kaannokset/1992/en19920...
