any treatments in the oven/furnace Explanation: 'Uunitus' means any treatment, like (paint) drying, baking, heat treatment, in the oven. Googling 'uunitus, uunittaa' gives many examples. 'Furnacing' seems to be in use in English, but apparently only in the meaning of 'heat treatment in the furnace'. |

To keep in the heat, treat with heat Explanation: Various substances and purposes require different times and heat levels. Special reflow ovens (they have peak and cooling zones) are used e.g. in soldering. One can built their own reflow oven but commonly when referring to “uunitus” it can be done in an ordinary oven, furnace or even in a "sauna"come to that. This may be referred to when killing bacteria (jam making and heating the pots, or even selecting and disinfecting new accessories for a fish tank), glassing pottery, or cooking food…etc. |
