Hope someone can help with this please.... In a Belgian letter about benefits they put the following:
"We hebben een recht op kinderbijslag vastgesteld uit hoofde van haar ziekteuitkeringen, maar vanaf 01/04/04 worden die ziekteuitkeringen beschouwd als ***"rente"*** (zij krijgt can 1 jaar en 3 maanden uitkeringen).

For rente I can only find "interest" which obviously does not fit, or "annuity" and I cannot quite understand how that would fit either....? Many thanks for any help.

In deze zin wordt bedoeld dat: aangezien de persoon recht had op kinderbijslag en die niet heeft gekregen, er op die kinderbijslag interest is verschuldigd door de staat wegens laattijdige betaling. Die eventuele interest wordt gecompenseerd door de ziekteuitkeringen die vanaf 1/4/4 werden uitbetaald.
Ik denk dat het ongeveer zo in mekaar zit.
