explantion: cross reference database based on a unique entity number in Belgium Explanation: The literal translation is used by the BE governent Cross Point Bank - I usually use the term and explain in a footnote as that is rather nonsensical in English -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 5 mins (2005-02-28 15:22:11 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Corrections: explanation / government (frozen fingers today!) -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 6 mins (2005-02-28 15:23:32 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- so yes Pierre - it is a central database -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 10 mins (2005-02-28 15:27:34 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Possibly the cross-point bank number will be used as approval number. For the moment, this has not been decided yet. EAN Belgium•Luxembourg will follow up ... www.can-trace.org/about/docs/ EANBelgium_Traceability%20Fruit_Veg_Potato.pdf - Similar pages -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 12 mins (2005-02-28 15:28:50 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- in the Netherlands mentioned in Sub-section 1, as well as experience acquired with other systems such as the Kruispuntbank (‘Crosspoint Bank’) in Belgium ... www.stroomlijningbasisgegevens.nl/pdfs/chronicle.pdf -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 2 hrs 9 mins (2005-02-28 17:25:45 GMT) Post-grading -------------------------------------------------- Post grading: Pierre, The explanation I gave you stands. The term I gave you is one that two of the Belgian agencies I work with have confirmed is the one I should use (despite the fact I do not like it) because it the official term used by the BE government. If there is another official term in use I am not aware of it for sure but can tell you I have also come across Enterprise Crossroads Bank Central Entity Database and other permutations thereof. Hope this helps -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 15 hrs 20 mins (2005-03-01 06:37:03 GMT) Post-grading -------------------------------------------------- Final: Crossroads Bank for Enterprises - term actually came from a colleague and moderator has been asked to allocate points accordingly. |
