Used as a title, however, I'm quite clear that the literal translation of this will not suffice.

De IJslandvaart is het bevissen van de rijke IJslandse visgronden van de Noordzee rond IJsland door vissersschepen zoals de O.129 Amandine.

The title is to capture the EXPERIENCE as described below:

De tocht naar IJsland nam vanuit Oostende zo'n vier dagen in beslag over een afstand van 1005 zeemijl, via wateren die geregeld door stormen werden geteisterd. IJslandvaarders waren stevig gebouwd om het lange verblijf op soms woelige zeeën te doorstaan. Tijdens de 20e eeuw gingen tal van schepen verloren. Vanaf 1945 verloren 49 vissers het leven in de IJslandse waters waarvan er 23 door golven overboord werden gesleurd.
