on call duty Explanation: I think Hirselina is right. Trade unions have a kind of “on call duty” service for their members, which is provided by union representatives. Very large companies are even legally obliged to provide office space where some assigned representatives can dedicate themselves to fulltime union work during office hours, all whilst remaining on the company’s payroll. Smaller companies can organise this “on call duty” outside office hours, e.g. one particular evening in the week. “Permanentie” can refer to the office or room where, or the time during which, this duty is being carried out, but also to the team of representatives that is on call (respectively : “op”, “tijdens” and “door/van…de permanentie”). In regards to the question at hand, I think that “tijdens de permanentie” can just be left out, the important information being that the workers objections were brought to the attention of the HR manager, via the union representatives. |
