French term or phrase: communication sociale et management info
This is from the title of a business Communication MASTERS course from Lumiere-Lyon-2 University in France.

At the top of this page of the transcript (which covers semesters 3 and 4) it reads:

Etage: M2 Com. des Organisations / Com. Sociale & management info (LC521)

Does the word "info" relate to IT studies, so it is like digital media marketing? or is this regarding something else?

You could call 'interpersonal communication' as this covers a wide range - person to person, person to groups, within groups, and can be informative and participatory. However, as this course not only relates to business but also at other organisations such as public bodies and NGOs, I don't think you could be as specific as to call it 'business communications'.

This article describes it as follows:- "Interpersonal communication is a soft skill that encompasses how well an individual communicates with others. This skill set, also referred to as “people skills” or “social skills,” is one of the most important for success in the workplace. Communication can take place both verbally and nonverbally, either in person or through digital means such as email or instant messaging."

This next one describes interpersonal communication in business as "The process of interpersonal communication in business involves sending and receiving messages with colleagues, managers, partners, customers and other business stakeholders. Effective interpersonal communication happens when the message is understood as it was intended."

Notes to answerer
Asker: Thanks for posting this answer. Could you just explain the use of "social" here though? I thought you were saying that the French use of "sociale" regarded business.

neutral  Thomas Miles: But Althea, you yourself mentioned that this course deals with 'communication d’entreprise', non? If we're cautious of 'corporate', perhaps 'institutional'?
