Struggling with this term to describe a dancer's technique :

xx à commencé la danse à Tunis au sein de la ... avant de se former auprès de Maguy Marin en 2010 et intègre ensuite le CNDC Angers en 2013. Sensible à la musicalité de la voix parlée, le texte a une place particulière dans sa ***recherche corporelle***. À travers celle-ci, il tente d’apprivoiser le corps pour en tirer une qualité de résistance entre le geste et le sens.

"Recherche corporelle" appears to be an established term for actors/dancers (see another example below) but I am struggling...
Any help much appreciated!
