Elsewhere in the suite of documents relating to the generation of electricity and the lease of equipment to do so, "dispatching" is referred to in the context of a "Planning de Production de Dispatching" and "Programme de Dispatching" where "despatch" in English works.

However, I can't decide how it should be referred to here.

Explanation:

- 1 dispatching national qui gère le réseau d'interconnexion à 400 000 volts et les échanges avec l'étranger ;

As the French didn't bother to translate it, the back-translation couldn't be easier ....

Notes to answerer
Asker: I can't find any reference to "dispatching" used in this way in English though. The French do love adding "ing" to English words to invent franglais words that actually don't make sense in English e.g. relooking (ugh)

agree  Tony M: I feel sure this is just the FR using the EN term, but just that it isn't all that common used in EN.

  -> "dispatching" exists in practically any kind of logistic operation, here they are shifting around electrical energy instead of people or goods, but it's all the same principle. Thanks!

agree  erwan-l: Agree with literal (here).
