I'm not sure if there is a specific term for this in the industry... I could only come up with 3 options which may not be the most adequate and would prefer if someone confirmed the actual term:

lay investor
inexperienced trader
non-expert investor

Context:

Madame XXXX était un investisseur profane.
Cependant, sans avoir conscience des risques associés, et sans que l’adéquation à son profil ait été préalablement vérifiée, elle a été autorisée par la BANQUE à mener des opérations à effet de levier (par multiple de 10), portant sur plusieurs millions d’euros sur le marché des changes (FOREX).

Context 2:

A cet effet, la Banque lui adressait par courriel deux documents « à signer et à retourner par fax », à savoir, un document intitulé:
« Spécial terms and conditions for currency transactions » (« Conditions particulières pour les opérations de change » - pièce n°8), l’autre intitulé « REPORT OF RISKS DIRECT ACCESS TO DEALING ROOM « ADVISED CLIENT - PROFESSIONAL CLIENT» (pièce n° 9) («Déclaration de risques Accès direct Salle des Marchés, Client avisé - Client Professionnel ») aux termes duquel il était précisé :

« Je reconnais en effet être un investisseur dit « avisé » ayant une expérience importante de tous les marchés et des produits auxquels je choisis de souscrire, que ce soit au sein de la Banque ou de tout autre établissement dans lequel je suis ou j’ai été client, et renonce ainsi à me prévaloir de la qualité de profane ».

Context 3:

Le fait que Madame XXXX était un investisseur profane résultait, en outre, très clairement de plusieurs emails qu’elle avait préalablement adressés à Monsieur XXXXXX le [DATE HERE], soit à peine 6 jours auparavant, aux termes desquels elle indiquait :
« Je rencontre un problème pour utiliser les termes « acheter » et « vendre » car vous semblez les utiliser dans un sens contraire à ma compréhension »
