I am translating a hip replacement brochure. The following text occurs in connection with screwing the cup into the acetabulum -

La gamme comprend des plots à vis et des plots à impacter. Les plots à vis seront à réserver à des patients dont l’état osseux ne garantit pas une bonne tenue du plot à impacter. Positionner le canon de perçage dans le trou du plot *le plus dans l’axe*. I am not sure what axis is being referred to here, perhaps the femoral head/neck?. At the moment I have "Position the drill bushing in the stud hole closest to the central axis".
