This is in a description of a hip replacement procedure using the BrainLAB pinless navigation. method and I am really struggling to understand the full meaning.

It relates to the insertion of 2 'broches' (pins) onto the hips during prosthesis; I don't understand the function of the 'témoin T' unless it's a typo...

Any help gratefully received.
