Called up once required Explanation: Although he was available he was not called up until there were others available in same area. Not my field but this is how I read it. |

Commandant, général, officier (mis) en disponibilité, envoyé en disponibilité. Voilà donc le général d'Amade en disponibilité (Jaurès, Eur. incert.,1914, p. 117). -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 44 mins (2020-11-06 14:17:12 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Another plausible translation could be "transferred to reserve establishment" which means he is no more in the employment of the army but may be called up for service in case of mobilization. |

Nikki S-D has done the FRE / ENG spadework on a previous question on 'la réserve de disponibilité' that could well be the key to this variation on a World War I theme.
