Safety / Security patrols
French term or phrase: ronde pointée
I am translating a text describing security procedures at a facility in France, and I am unable to find a translation or definition of "ronde pointée". There is little context beyond specifying where the patrol takes place (e.g. "Ronde pointée du RDC") or the schedule. All I know is that it is different to a "ronde à vue". The "Liste des pointeaux de la ronde pointée" lists basic actions like locking windows, turning off electrical appliances, checking locked doors, etc. I really don't know what the English equivalent would be, nor have I found many references as a guideline. Any help would be appreciated!

a logged patrol

Explanation:
Suggestion from a combo of various sources but one which I think could work here. In security guard termino, you will come across "data loggers" that enable precise control times to be entered electronically, for example.

So "logged patrol of the ground floor" for example.

Maybe my recent employment in a carceral setting has made me more sensitive to this type of thing. ;-)

neutral  Daryo: "logged patrol" is slightly different - it could be just "logged" on paper in some kind of diary/log book, nothing more - without any "checkpoints" along the route.

Reference: Origin of "pointé"

Reference information:
As a starting point for you (hopefully), my research suggests that "pointé" comes from "point de contrôle" - control point. The webpage below talks about "rondes pointées" as distinct from "rondes à vue" and explains both of them, as well as various other types of "ronde", so it does seem relevant.

You might find this helpful too, it describes very similar-sounding security patrols involving the use of technology:
