sports therapist Explanation: If the person is working in a multidisciplinary rehab context, then "sports therapist" may be a good choice of term. https://www.prospects.ac.uk/job-profiles/sports-therapist You may prefer something a little more descriptive and I had first thought of something with "rehabilitation" or "remedial". I don't think that is quite such a good match as "sports therapist" in view of the description you have given as context. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 8 hrs (2019-01-24 01:21:44 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- There is no need to seek to translate the term "médico". The term "therapist" conveys both the educational and the medical notions. |

Adapted PE (Physical Education) Teacher Explanation: I think this looks like the same kind of profession in US and Canada https://www.masters-in-special-education.com/job-profile/ada... https://www.shapeamerica.org/publications/resources/teaching... |

exercise physiologist Explanation: I think this is a good equivalent. Despite being called a "professeur" or "éducateur", this is a therapist working in a medical setting. And in French, "sport" doesn't necessarily mean sport - it can mean exercise. In my reference, a "salle de sport" is a fitness room, and "faire du sport" can mean "work out". "Exercise physiologists analyze their patients’ fitness in order to help them improve their health or maintain good health. They help patients with heart disease and other chronic conditions, like diabetes or pulmonary (lung) disease, to regain their health. They also work with both amateur and professional athletes who are hoping to boost their performance." http://explorehealthcareers.org/career/sports-medicine/exerc... http://dictionary.reverso.net/french-english/Sport |
