come si potrebbe rendere in italiano questa espressione?
ho trovato parecchie definizioni (https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maire_(France)#Adjoint_au_mair... http://www.collectivites-locales.gouv.fr/adjoints-au-maire ) e mi sembra di capire che si tratti di persone che svolgono funzione di "vice", di "vicari" del sindaco... potrebbero essere "delegati del sindaco" oppure, più genericamente, "funzionari del municipio"?

Asker: grazie per la risposta! Tuttavia ho qualche dubbio... mi chiedo se "adjoints au maire" e "assessori" siano perfettamente sorapponibili. In particolare, questi "adjoints au maire" dovrebbero essere (come il "maire") in grado di celebrare matrimoni civili, quindi di svolgere il ruolo di ufficiali dello stato civile. Se ho capito bene, hanno questa facoltà senza il bisogno di essere delegati dal "maire". Gli "assessori" credo abbiano bisogno di essere delegati dal sindaco per una funzione del genere. Il "vice sindaco" dovrebbe invece avere la facoltà di farlo senza delega. Sempre se ho capito bene come funzionano le cose.
